Who we are

Toolest is operated by an independent developer based in Italy. For any question about this policy or your data, contact privacy@toolesthub.com.

No accounts, no sign-up

Toolest does not require you to create an account or log in. There are no user profiles and no passwords stored anywhere.

Files and text you process

Most tools run entirely in your browser: files and text you paste or upload never leave your device.

Tools that require server-side processing (for example image or PDF conversions) upload your file temporarily to our server purely to perform the requested conversion. The file is deleted immediately after the response is sent and is never stored, read for any other purpose, or shared with third parties.

URL Shortener

If you use the URL Shortener tool, we store the destination URL you submit, the generated short code, its creation date and basic click statistics, so that the short link keeps working over time.

Do not submit a URL containing personal or sensitive information you would not want stored. Short links are kept until you ask us to remove one; contact privacy@toolesthub.com to request deletion.

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand which tools and pages are actually useful, Toolest records anonymous pageview counts: the page path visited and, for the first page of a visit, the hostname of the referring site. No cookie, browser storage or persistent identifier is used to do this, and your IP address is not stored.

This data is only ever aggregated into daily totals per page and per referrer, so it is not possible to reconstruct an individual visit or visitor from it.

Technical and hosting data

Like any website, our hosting infrastructure automatically processes limited technical data (such as IP address and request logs) to keep the service running securely and to prevent abuse. This is not used to identify individual visitors for any other purpose.

No third-party requests

Loading a page of this site contacts nobody but this site: no external fonts, no third-party scripts, no remotely hosted images, no embedded players. The web fonts are served from this domain, so browsing sends no request and no IP address of yours to another company. You can verify this in the network panel of your browser.

There is one exception, and it only happens if you choose to use those tools. The features that recognise text inside images (Image to Text, OCR PDF, PDF to Text and Data Extractor) download their recognition engine and English language model from a public code distribution network the first time you run them, so that network sees your IP address. Your image or document is not part of that request and is never uploaded: it is read on your device, by the engine that was downloaded.

Legal basis for processing

We process the data described above on the basis of legitimate interest (keeping the service secure and functional, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, for the URL Shortener, to perform the service you specifically requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

No profiling, no advertising, no third-party analytics

The pageview counter described above is the only measurement on this site, it is ours, and it runs on our own server. Toolest uses no third-party analytics service, no advertising network, no profiling or fingerprinting technology and no cross-site tracking of any kind.

If this changes in the future, this policy and our Cookie Policy will be updated and, where required, your consent will be requested before any such technology is activated.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and to object to or request restriction of its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@toolesthub.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of your EU country of residence.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the tools or applicable law. The date at the top of this page indicates the last revision.
